Float Left launches Screen Media Ventures’ FrightPix on Roku and Amazon Fire TV, giving viewers access to hundreds of horror movies available for free, with no subscription fees, just in time for Halloween.

Built on Float Left’s Flicast framework, FrightPix features popular horror and cult classic hits such as Night of the Living Dead, Little Shop of Horrors, The Paranormal Activity Series, and Sleepaway Camp.

“We are excited to be launching another one of Screen Media Ventures’ powerhouse brands on Flicast” said Tom Schaeffer, CEO of Float Left. “In addition to Popcornflix and Popcornflix Kids, FrightPix rounds out the offering by giving horror movie fans a vast library of content.”

FrightPix, an ad-based video-on-demand (AVOD) service, was built utilizing Flicast’s powerful framework and UI engine, giving viewers an optimal user experience allowing them to access hundreds of movies through their easy to explore interface. Additional features include interactive ads and advanced analytics.

“Float Left has a proven track record of improving the quality of experience for our applications, so launching Frightpix with them was a no brainer.” said Benjamin Saxton,  Director of Digital Product at Screen Media Ventures. “We were under serious time constraints with launching FrightPix before Halloween, the Flicast framework enabled us to launch the app with time to spare.”

Since FrightPix has launched on the Flicast platform, there has been a 110% increase in Roku users, 53% increase in Average Minutes viewed, and a 196% increase in total hours streamed.

In addition to Flicast, FrightPix also utilizes JW Player’s video technology for better streaming to FrightPix’s active users.
