Float Left began developing TV applications in 2009 when launching an OTT service was a practical option for content publishers due to the emergence of technologies.

We got our start creating solutions for Roku and developed a few of their very first channels including NBA Gametime and MOG. This quickly expanded into more a complex application development opportunities with some of today’s largest media brands.

Since the beginning, our primary goal has been to drive engagement around the user experience. We have guided hundreds of brands to deploy OTT services, including many top-tier cable and broadcast networks.

As a company, Float Left has been experiencing rapid growth. Focusing on large broadcast and cable networks as well as many smaller but significant media brands, the explosion of the OTT space has led Float Left to build increasingly innovative and engaging solutions. With the rapid expansion of the OTT ecosystem, we have done our best to stay ahead of the growth curve. We predicted the explosion but couldn’t capture enough of the market to capitalize on how quickly the industry was evolving. In the early years, we often would have to sell the concept of OTT to a brand, which is a stark contrast with our conversations today.

Over the years, the direct-to-consumer (DTC) services have become much more complex and cost prohibitive for smaller providers. To combat this, Float Left recently launched a comprehensive application solution called Flicast, which reduces the complexity of development and cost without sacrificing a best-in-class consumer experience. We are confident that the Flicast model will lead the charge in developing a unified application experience for every platform.

As we embark on this new journey, we are energized at the possibilities to continue to innovate in the marketplace. Float Left will continue drive our award-winning TV Everywhere & OTT app solutions and work with our new and existing clients to innovate in the space. Coupled with our hands-on customer service and expertise, we are excited to continue to play a major role in the OTT ecosystem.
