Update, June 2019 — EVINE Live Inc. is now ShopHQ.

MINNEAPOLIS, August 9, 2016 — EVINE Live Inc. (NASDAQ:EVLV), an omnichannel retail experience (evine.com), announced today that viewers can now access live video commerce content on their favorite streaming devices via Evine’s new apps on Apple TV, Amazon Fire and select Samsung Smart TVs. In addition to expanding Evine’s reach, the apps allow anyone with a compatible device to enjoy the same live content on their televisions as cable and satellite subscribers.

“These apps present a tremendous opportunity to grow our customer base, expand our distribution and build shareholder value,” said Bob Rosenblatt, interim Chief Executive Officer at Evine. “The way people consume content has changed drastically since devices like Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire came on the market. These devices not only put Evine on more television screens, but they’re excellent platforms to market directly to consumers. As more Americans cut the cord and choose to stream video content instead, having a presence in these spaces will be crucial in maintaining sustainable growth.”

According to the Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan fact tank and subsidiary of The Pew Charitable Trusts, 84% of American adults use the internet today, with use by older adults – Evine’s target audience – growing at some of the fastest rates of any age group since 2000. In addition to internet usage, over-the-top content (OTT), i.e. media content streamed on the internet, continues to be a popular complement to traditional cable and satellite entertainment. In a June 22, 2016 press release by Park Associates, an internationally recognized market research and consulting company, the firm revealed research showing that “U.S. broadband households watch an average of 3.8 hours of Internet video on TV screens each week, accounting for 20% of all video viewed on this device.”

“Consumers are now using their TVs in ways that a few decades ago would not have been possible,” continued Rosenblatt. “Our business may have started in TV, but our future is truly multi-channel. We will continue to seek-out customers wherever they are and make our live video commerce experience accessible to as many of them as possible. We’re confident that once viewers discover our engaging and informative shopping experience, they’ll stay with us for a lifetime.”

In addition to offering customers additional ways to watch, the apps expand Evine’s national distribution. Today, Evine broadcasts into nearly 88 million cable and satellite homes across the country and streams its content on its website. The company also offers live viewing via its Roku app, which has close to 50,000 downloads. The addition of the Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Samsung Smart TV apps developed by leading TV Everywhere & OTT solutions provider, Float Left, will make Evine available to consumers on the more than 70 million devices that exist today.

Viewers are encouraged to download the apps from their Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Samsung Smart TVs which are available in app stores now.
